The original "destination spa" in North America, founded 1940, Rancho La Puerta is physically located in the Laguna mountains east of San Diego near the town of Tecate, Baja California, Mexico. Typical stays are 3-, 4- and/or 7 nights. One-day culinary "adventures" called "Saturdays at the Ranch" are available, with transportation provided RT from San Diego (a drive of about 1 1/2 hours). The spa is in Mexico, but its business offices (Reservations, Accounting, Marketing) are in San Diego.
