Authentic Montessori Preschool and Kindergarten since 1978
The goal of the Montessori Child Development Center is to help each child reach his or her unique potential intellectually, socially, physically, and emotionally, Founded as a nonprofit corporation in 1978, the school is still headed by Marijane Schafer, one of the original founders. Children ages 2.5 - 6 learn in a country home environment filled with Montessori learning materials and are taught by an exceptional teaching staff. The park-like setting on over 1 acre includes hills to roll down, a "tree house" climber, farmyard animals to care for, and vegetable and flower gardens to tend. The curriculum includes practical life, sensory motor, reading, writing, art geography, science and cultural studies.
The summer camp every year is a fun in the sun theme that includes the Montessori curriculum, special activities, swimming lessons and more.
Extended care is open to enrolled students from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Extra curricular programs are offered after school such as dance, movement activities, music, and computers. Call for tuition. Sibling discounts available.
